This bystander education course will provide employees with an understanding of how interpersonal racism continues to support and maintain systemic racism. Through scenario-based learning, participants will develop skills for recognizing racial bias and confronting discrimination. An overview of related Human Resources policies and practices will be given to support employees in actively dismantling racism within Mass General Brigham.

Well done; I appreciated the different scenarios/perspectives. A helpful reminder of how pervasive and how damaging microaggressions and other all too prominent forms of racism show up in the workplace.

Well Put
I especially liked the emphasis on allyship that encourages sitting in the discomfort of realizing and recognizing when you are wrong in a situation, before trying to get defensive.

The scenarios were very engaging and realistic! I did not realize how often I see these micro-aggressions in the work place. Its as if I have become so numb to certain comments that I forget that these behaviors are inappropriate. And even as an employee of color I can acknowledge some ways that I can stand up for my co-workers and myself.

Great
I think the course was very well put together. It really emphasized the ignorance that white people can have. It also emphasized that whether or not it is intentional, this ignorance of white people can have lasting and devastating impacts on literally any other group of people. It is difficult to recognize your own bias, privilege, or impact but these videos brought up really great scenarios and examples. It was very well thought out, organized, and portrayed. The fact that it was from multiple points of views really emphasized the impacts of certain actions and different perspectives of everyone involved.
