This bystander education course will provide employees with an understanding of how interpersonal racism continues to support and maintain systemic racism. Through scenario-based learning, participants will develop skills for recognizing racial bias and confronting discrimination. An overview of related Human Resources policies and practices will be given to support employees in actively dismantling racism within Mass General Brigham.

I AGREE
Being able to live in someone else's shoes just for a minute had a lasting effect on my point of view towards how they may respond to what has been said.

Excellent point
Krystal, you make a great point, if we all take the time to put ourselves in someone else's shoes and contemplate the situation it gives an opportunity to reflect and respond appropriately in many situations.

I could not agree more! This
I could not agree more! This training was extremely eye opening for many, and I loved how the 4 scenarios encouraged the participant to actively engage and make decisions regarding what to do next. This should absolutely be required of all employees/employers to complete in all hospital and health care settings.

Humbling
A good reminder of all the ways that I am guilty of unconscious bias, insensitivity and falling short of making our work environment a better version of itself.

"Humbling" stood out to me
The word "Humbling" stood out to me. There is a lot of bias that goes unchecked and it's all our responsibility to look for it, call it out, and change it.
