acknowledgement of tricky parts
I appreciated how this training acknowledged that there are moments in which "speaking up" might be silencing a person whose voice needs to be heard. There are also moments in which "speaking up" is absolutely critical and can make a huge difference to the workplace community as well as the individual experiencing workplace racism. I'm glad that the training acknowledged that these decisions are not always easy and these moments are not always obvious. The training really showed how doing inner work, deconstructing our own defensiveness, and taking time to consider the words and experiences of others can allow us to continue to show up for these tricky choices.
