Thought content was really well done and helped to put yourself in the shoes of others to understand how compounding microaggressions can build up over time and make work unbearable and interfere with your ability to focus on your job.

John Obrien replied on

Very well done. There is particular value in the topic of microaggressions. Excellent learning opportunity.

Marina Gettas replied on

This difficult topic was explained very well.

The videos were so informative and highlighted ways all members of the team at Brigham can advocate for an equitable and diverse work environment

Megan Vandergriend replied on

I found the situations in the video difficult at times to watch, but I think that emphasizes how important it is to advocate for one another in addition to just ourselves. It can be really difficult to stand up for yourself at times, especially when a power dynamic is involved, which is why we should all do better to allow all voices to be heard, not just the loudest.

Good content on what is expected to occur when these situations arise. Hopefully training like this will make it reality.

The 4 different views points helped me understand what can really happen in a workplace when racism is present. I liked seeing it through different lenses to better understand everything going on in that specific hospital.

The scenario’s were really good examples of racism or what racism could look like in a work environment and showed different ways to address racism in the work place, it was a really good video to watch especially to bring awareness!

It is so important to discuss this topic and every workplace should require something like this.

Madelyn Glass replied on

I thought the course was very informative, especially opening your eyes to scenarios which you may not even realize you are putting others in. It is important to always be mindful before speaking with someone and make sure equity and inclusion are a top priority.

Noah Madden replied on

I really liked the different scenarios shown, it showed not only racism from POC’s point of view but also how racism could be in people’s lives without them realizing it.

I thought it was well put together-- but the implication was that while there are nuances to the experience of ethnic and racial discrimination, that all people who are white or in a place of privilege are essentially coming from the same place.  This leaves out ways that someone may be perceived as white or privileged yet also feel insecure, vulnerable to exclusion or judgment, and even may have an ethnic or racial identity that isn't superficially evident

Elizabeth Weinberg replied on

I like to consider myself a good ally to those that face experiences different than mine, but this had good reminders that the priority should always be on the person who is being negatively impacted first, and my role second.
